Objectives of the role

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining relationships with existing clients while also generating new business opportunities. You will act as the primary point of contact for your assigned accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and resolving any issues that may arise. As an AM, you will be involved in the sales process by creating and presenting proposals, negotiating contracts, and closing deals. Additionally, you will support our production team both in the office and field to ensure projects are performed to our quality standards on time and within budget. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage your time efficiently, and a love for the outdoors are key to success in this role. If you find personal satisfaction in building great relationships and don’t mind getting your hands dirty occasionally, then you will enjoy this role.

Basic Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Design and sell custom residential and commercial landscapes, outdoor living spaces, planting designs, pools, lighting systems and more to qualified homeowners, builders, developers, etc. that meet or exceed our ideal client
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with our clients, builders, and sub-contractors to be able to better communicate with them throughout the project and beyond
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to determine soil type, slope, drainage, exposure, and existing structures, features, roads, and utilities that will affect the project.
  • Prepares and presents proposals in a complete and professional manner, according to company standards and expectations
  • Ensures all estimates are prepared and approved as needed prior to presenting them to the client
  • Sell work within approved margin guidelines to achieve targeted job costs and profit margins
  • Responds to all inquiries and requests for bid in a timely manner
  • Maintains record and tracking of all proposals in progress and timely follows-up to maximize sales opportunities. Aggressively pursues all proposals in progress
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of solutions according to client needs and objectives
  • Maintain contracts and renewal of all managed accounts
  • Identify and recommend upgrades on client properties to improve aesthetics and function
  • Serve as the primary contact and respond to our clients’ requests and concerns
  • Responsible for sales goals which include landscape, hardscape, pools, structures, irrigation, drainage, and lawn maintenance
  • Must be able to negotiate and provide excellent customer service
  • Understand mechanics of a basic pool and irrigation systems, know how to program, and accurately adjust schedules for a controller and make basic repairs
  • Understand common terms, operations, and procedures for agronomy, arboriculture, enhancements, & irrigation
  • Greet clients, vendors, and other visitors in a friendly, professional manner
  • Other duties as assigned which may or may not be directly related to the position
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct

Minimum Requirements (Preferred)

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 years of experience in related field is required – Bachelor’s degree in

Landscape Architecture, Landscape Maintenance/Horticulture, Landscape Construction, Horticulture, orConstruction Management. Will consider other relevant degree programs and experience.

  • Professional design experience. A minimum of two years of landscape and hardscape design experience preferred in a position that involved working directly with residential and commercial clients.
  • Expertise with standard design concepts, practices and procedures as demonstrated through relevant work and educational experience.
  • An in-depth understanding of landscape construction products, methods, and procedures. Knowledge of horticultural materials and planting techniques specific to the to the region as well as prior experience installing plants and/or hardscaping materials are a plus.
  • Experience in reading scaled landscape plans, engineering plan sets, and construction details. Ability to calculate labor costs and material requirements and quantities based on site plans.
  • Knowledge of drawing or drafting software such as CAD, Solidworks, VectorWorks, or other design software. Preferred
  • Proficiency leveraging technology/software Aspire, Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook & Excel).
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of conversion factors and unit weights for all related construction materials commonly utilized in the industry (various aggregates, soils, concrete, asphalt, rebar, pipe, etc.)
  • Must be able to work independently, while meeting internal schedules and deadlines.

  • Must be capable of operating an iPad, smartphone, and use company software(s)
